Touchnote for Mobile
Touchnote.com is an online service that lets you design and create your own greeting cards. Touchnote wanted a mobile applicaton and needed to create, manage and develop it within 5 weeks. Origin Mobile was given the brief and in conjunction with Touchnote’s partners delivered a vibrant, elegant, simple application called “Touchnote for Mobile” which incorporated:
- A Crop screen to get the best out of the image used
- Address book filtering – so only those contacts with addresses appeared
- Geotagging – giving the recipient a map location on the inside of the card
- Ability to save addresses and send on to other recipients
The development went so well that Touchnote is now looking at developing for other mobile platforms.

PackChat for Howler Technologies
Headquartered in London, Howler Technologies provides revolutionary solutions to the telecoms industry. Before leaving to found Origin Mobile, Ed Hodges worked with Howler to envision and manage the delivery of Howler PackChat (formerly ROK Talk). At its core, PackChat is an application for mobile phones that enables people to create conference calls by simply selecting multiple users from their phones contact list. PackChat includes other advanced features, such as:
- Instant conference calling for up to 30 people
- Contextual in-conference instructions e.g. ‘Adam has left the conversation’
- Conference Lead can increase / decrease individual member volume
- Conference details emailed to each recipient
- Schedule conferences for later time/date; each member automatically called and connected at right time
